What Paddle events does LinkJolt track?
LinkJolt tracks all key Paddle webhook events: transaction.completed and transaction.paid (one-time and initial subscription payments), subscription.created, subscription.activated, subscription.cancelled, subscription.paused, subscription.resumed, subscription.payment_succeeded (renewals), and adjustment.created (refunds/chargebacks). Each event triggers the appropriate commission action automatically.
Do I need to modify my Paddle checkout code?
You need to add one line to your Paddle.Checkout.open call to pass the customData parameter with LinkJolt tracking info. The tracking script provides window.linkjolt.referral which you include in the customData object. This is how Paddle passes affiliate attribution to the webhook.
Does this work with Paddle Billing (subscriptions)?
Yes. LinkJolt fully supports Paddle Billing subscriptions. It tracks initial subscription creation, recurring renewals, plan upgrades/downgrades, and cancellations. You can set different commission rates for initial sales vs renewals to reward affiliates appropriately.
How are affiliate payouts handled?
LinkJolt uses Stripe Connect for affiliate payouts, not Paddle directly. Paddle does not offer a Connect-style payout feature. Commission payouts are processed separately through Stripe Connect transfers from your Stripe account to affiliates, with 0% platform fees.
Can I track both one-time purchases and subscriptions?
Yes. LinkJolt handles both Paddle one-time transactions and recurring subscriptions. One-time purchases create a single conversion, while subscriptions create an initial conversion plus recurring conversions for each renewal within your configured commission duration.
